Entry 001: Muchas Gracias

This is a much loved restaurant by many who think they enjoy authentic Mexican food. I hate to burst their bubble that its only a little closer to being authentic than say Taco Smell. Being Mexican doesn’t makes me an authority on what is authentic, but I can safely say that I know more than most. So, here is my never fails rule of thumb on authentic mexican food. If chedder cheese is on the menu, it is not an authentic.

Cost: It’s pretty reasonably priced when you consider how much you are getting and if you don’t mind bland, flavorless meat, beans and rice.

Redeeming: Um, the only thing that I liked was the chilies and carrots in vinegar.

Muchas Gracias, Good/Bad/In-between: It’s bad. I don’t eat here. No thanks or No Gracias.

Here’s the deal: If I want authentic mexican food I drive an hour north to Centralia to a mom and pop place called La Tarasca. They are the only authentic place that I know of. How authentic you might ask. Well, its better than my mom’s cooking.

12/20 Edited for clarity. Moved La Tarasca paragraph down to the bottom.
